Type III Anodize finishes can be enhanced with PTFE (Teflon®) to improve material release and reduce the risk of premature galling failure. The final finishes demonstrate excellent corrosion, wear, and abrasion resistance. Altogether, these qualities make them popular for use in nonstick cookware, aerospace materials, electronics, industrial machinery, and firearms.
Pioneer’s Hard Lube process produces a hardcoat finish that is combined with a proprietary PTFE process to improve the lubricity of the hardcoated surface. The process offers enhanced lubricity on a Hard Anodized surface without altering the tolerances of the Hard Anodized part. When a customer requires a finished piece that will be subject to friction under close tolerance conditions and where a solid film lubricant would cause problems, the Hard Lube process could be the answer.

The Nituff® process allows aluminum to be used in applications where high levels of wear and corrosion resistance are enhanced with the penetration of PTFE.
After undergoing the Nituff® process, the properties of treated aluminum is transformed; the surface hardness becomes comparable to case-hardened steel and gains exceptional surface durability, high corrosion resistance, and a low coefficient of friction.
