NiCoTef®, another of Pioneer’s proprietary process brands, is an advanced electroless nickel composite coating which offers an extremely low coefficient of friction, high corrosion resistance and improved wear for a number of applications. This coating has the flexibility to treat a number of metals, which increases their durability while keeping or enhancing many of the electroless nickel features.
NiCoTef offers a superior degree of lubricity. This treatment uses 25% Teflon®, which provides low friction without the use of lubricants and supplies continuous amounts of PTFE throughout the coating life. While NiCoTef blocks corrosive elements and resists wear and galling, it also can protect and lubricate interior surfaces of complex parts.
NiCoTef is used for a variety of applications in a number of different industries. The coating has been used in FDA approved applications in the food processing, pharmaceutical, dental and medical industries, including surgical devices, drills, knives, instruments and various processing components. NiCoTef provides lubrication to fasteners and components used in the electronics industry and is used in the textile and packaging industries to reduce friction and prevent soiling that occurs with most lubricants. In the automotive industry NiCoTef is used to treat compressor parts, seat belt and fluid power components in order to improve wear and corrosion resistance and provide permanent lubrication.
